‘Lost & Found’ from Paradox Pictures to screen at TIFF Kids International Film Festival
27 Mar 2017 : Katie McNeice
The short film written and directed by Liam O’Neill is set to screen four times at the Toronto-based festival, which runs from April 7th-23rd.

‘Lost & Found’ stars Caroline Morahan, Lee O'Donoghue and Liam O'Brien in a family drama which sees a young boy try to help his mother through his father’s death and financial hardship.

TIFF Kids International Film Festival celebrates its 20th anniversary this year as one of the world’s most important cinematic events for young film lovers. TIFF Kids has helped inspire and empower tens of thousands of young people through the discovery of filmmaking and animation. Held in the TIFF Bell Lightbox, this year is their largest programme to date, a diverse selection featuring 160 plus films from over 40 countries.

During 2016 ‘Lost & Found’ was doing the festival rounds with screenings at, among others, The Delhi Smile FF in India and in September at the 23rd Los Angeles International Family FF. The film also received an Honourable Mention at the Chicago Irish Film Festival in March.

Chicago Irish Film Festival Director Jude Blackburn:
"Lost & Found is a heart-warming film, a wonderful story of love and family and moving on after a great loss"

Paradox Pictures recently produced two more short films directed by Liam O’Neill; ‘Danny Boy’ which he also wrote, and ‘Kathleen’ penned by John Morton.

The former received a Carlow County Council ArtLinks grant in 2016 and was shortlisted for the 2016 Waterford FF script award, while ‘Kathleeen’ received the Waterford Film Festival’s short script award in 2015.

The films feature Denis Conway (The Truth Commissioner, Brooklyn), Tara Breathnach (A Nightingale Falling, The Last Days of Anne Boleyn), Margarita Murphy (One Night In Dublin), and the debuts of up and comers Amy O’Donoghue and Eloise Broderick.

Kilkenny based film maker Kevin Hughes lensed the film and production design was by Annabel Konig with costumes from Marie Tierney. Nicola Jackson ably stepped into the 1st AD slot and much support was provided by The Carlow Institute of Technology.

Both films are currently in post-production and will be completed in June.
