‘The Tudors’ stars Jonathan Rhys Meyers and Peter O’Toole are set to star in the New Testament film 'Mary, Mother of Christ' to be directed by Alejandro Agresti (The Lake House).
According to Variety, Camilla Belle (10,000 BC) will take the lead role of Mary while O'Toole is to play the character of Symeon and Rhys Meyers will have the dual roles of Lucifer and Gabriel.
Al Pacino and Jessica Lange are also rumoured to be lined up to play Herod and Anna the Prophetess. The film is to begin shooting in Morocco in May for planned release for Good Friday 2010.
Both Rhys Meyers and O’Toole are nominated for Irish Film & Television Awards this weekend for their roles in ‘The Tudors’.
