Michael Fassbender (Hunger, Eden Lake), has been confirmed to headline the Roman based epic ‘Centurion’ to be directed by Neil Marshal (Doomsday, The Descent).
Actors joining Fassbender in the lineup include his ‘300’ and ‘The Devil’s Whore’ co-star Dominic West and Olga Kurylenko (Quantum of Solace). Shooting is to begin on February 22.
The film, set during the Roman invasion of Britain in A.D. 117, follows a Roman soldier who after surviving an attack on his fort, sets out to get revenge on the leader of the attack.
Pathé Distribution will release in the UK and France with Pathé International handling the film worldwide.
Fassebender has received three nominations for the upcoming IFTA awards including Best Actor (Hunger), Best Supporting Actor (A Devil’s Whore) and the Irish Film Board Rising Star Award. He also has been shortlisted for the BAFTA Orange Rising Star Award.
