TV3 will begin airing all episodes of the first season of Irish soap ‘Red Rock’ from Thursday, July 23rd.
The first series kicked off this year on January 7th and aired twice a week before wrapping on June 4th. Over 410,000 people watched the first episode of the soap and the average viewing figures of the show by May was 206,000.
The soap is made for TV3 by Element Pictures and UK production house Company Pictures and was created by Peter McKenna. Directors on the show included Lisa Mulcahy, Tom Hall and Rob and Ronan Burke. Cast members include Cathy Belton, Denise McCormack, Sean Mahon, Andrea Irvine and Paul Roe.
TV3 has commissioned the continuing drama for two years, committing to over 160 episodes and representing an investment of close to €7million per annum. The soap employs up to 130 people full-time in the audio/visual and acting industry.
Episode one and two of ‘Red Rock’ will air on Thursday, July 23.
