IFTN is continuing its’ coverage of MIPTV, the world’s entertainment content Market that takes place this week, with news of what Sideline is bringing to the masses in Cannes.
Sideline is one of Ireland’s most successful prodcos working between factual, entertainment and comedy. They develop shows and formats for the Irish, UK and international TV industry plus produce international formats such as ‘The Great Irish Bake Off’ for TV3.
At MIPTV this week, with Creative Director and owner Billy McGrath representing Sideline, DCD Rights are launching the international sale of ‘Secrets of Great British Castles’ with Dan Jones. The six part series is Sideline’s first ever UK commission and explores six of Britain’s greatest fortifications and castles across England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.
A co-production between Sideline and GroupM Entertainment in London, the series started on Channel 5 on Friday, April 3 and had the biggest audience of the day reaching approximately 1m viewers and increasing the previous week’s share by 17%.
The series has already sold to Australia and follows on from the success of Sideline’s ‘Tales of Irish Castles’ - a six hour BAI series for TV3 that is also distributed internationally by DCD Rights.
