IFTN shines the spotlight on another three film festival stories of Irish interest, from the premiere of short film ‘All Mortal Flesh’ to ‘The Red Bear’ winning a directing award in LA and a film series dedicated to the 1913 Lockout in Cork.
‘All Mortal Flesh’ to premiere at Cork International Film Festival
Writer/director John Corcoran’s short film ‘All Mortal Flesh’, about a suburban family man & contract killer, will receive its world premiere at the Cork International Film Festival this Friday 15th November.
Executive-produced by Square One productions’ Shane Tobin, the short stars actor Ben Mulhern in the lead role as he faces an unexpected dilemma after accepting a last-minute job in the days leading up to Christmas.
As the follow-up to his graduating short ‘Shellshock’, the story stemmed from Mr Corcoran’s attempts to find a story with a contemporary setting on a shoe-string budget.
‘My main interest with this film is the possibility for moments of empathy and humanity to occur in otherwise dark situations, and how there are aspects of every person that remain a secret, even to those closest to them,’ he said.
Additional cast members include Sinead Monaghan, Karen Murphy, Ella Grace Curtin and George Bracebridge, director of photography Dean Kavanagh, composer Simon O’Reilly, art directors Zephra Cooney and Luke Benson, and camera operator Burschi Wojnar.
‘All Mortal Flesh’ will screen as part of the Irish Shorts Programme 3 at the Triskel Arts Centre in Cork City at 3.30pm on Friday 15th November.
