US based Irish composer, Ciarán Hope, has scored director Anthony Scarpa’s feature film ‘Grace’ which premiered at the Los Angeles Silver Lake Film Festival this week.
Winner of the Audience Award at the 2003 festival with the critically acclaimed documentary ‘Betty Blowtorch And Her Amazing True Life Adventures’, Scarpa teams with cinematographer Tom Camarda (Transamerica) for his narrative debut.
Dunboyne native Ciarán Hope, who originally landed in Hollywood as a Fulbright Scholar, was called in to create the score for the moving emotional drama that follows a young woman’s fight with terminal illness.
Hope has previously written music for the TV series ‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer’ and for the feature films ‘Manfast’ and ‘It's a Guy Thing’. He has just completed work on a horror feature entitled ‘Teresa’ which was produced and DP’d by Academy Award Nominee Jack Green (Unforgiven).
