The documentary was screened as part of the Bloomsday centenary celebrations on RTÉ this year and this is its first festival win. The documentary is produced by David Blake Knox and Hilary Fennell at Blueprint Pictures.
"We're delighted with the Gold Hugo. It means a lot to us as it's such a presitgious award,' said producer Hilary Fennell. 'We're particularly pleased that 'Imagining Ulysses' has received recognition from the USA so soon after its broadcast on June 16th," said Fennell.
Producer David Blake is currently en-route to Chicago to personally accept the award at a ceremony scheduled to take place at the Chicago Cultural Center tomorrow.
