Once again assuming writing and directing duties, Mr McMahon told IFTN that the film is currently in pre-production with a scheduled start date of 29th April.
The plot centres on ‘a young man with mental health problems who becomes intimate with an older suicidal air hostess, causing his obsessive mother to enlist the help of a dysfunctional cop’.
The film, which is based in Dublin and the midlands, aims to explore the impact their relationship has on the community around them.
‘Patrick’s Day’ received funding from the Irish Film Board and RTE, and is produced by Tim Palmer (Into The West, A Love Divided, Last Of The High Kings) and Rachel Lysaght (The Pipe, Dreams Of A Life, Muide Eire).
Director of Photography is Michael Lavelle, World Cinematography Award Winner (His & Hers, Undressing My Mother, Cluck), with complete cast and crew to be announced soon.
‘Charlie Casanova’ followed the exploits of the eponymous anti-hero as he dabbled in the dark side, in a satirical tale of sex, greed and excess.
