 Rea, Kirwan & Wycherley Join Farrell For 'Ondine'
Neil Jordan’s latest feature ‘Ondine’, starring Colin Farrell (Intermission, In Bruges), has begun filming on location in Castletownbere, Co. Cork. Irish actors Stephen Rea (The Crying Game), Dervla Kirwan (Ballykissangel) and IFTA nominated actor Don Wycherley (The Running Mate) have joined the cast. more
 TV3 to Takeover Channel 6
Independent Irish broadcaster TV3, owned by private equity firm Doughty Hanson, is set to take over Channel 6 from its founders and a consortium of investors for an undisclosed sum. more
 Samson Films ‘Little Foxes’ Begins Bray Shoot
Samson Films Irish / Slovakian / Czech Republic co-production ‘Little Foxes’, written and directed by Mira Fornayova, has begun a four week shoot on location in Bray, Co. Wicklow. The film stars Aaron Monaghan (Deep Breaths, Ella Enchanted) and Jonathan Byrne (Fair City, The Honeymooners). more
 Sandler & Schneider in Dublin for ‘Zohan’ Premiere
The crowds were out in force at the Savoy Cinema, Dublin, on Wednesday night, eager to catch a glimpse of US comedy kings Adam Sandler (The Waterboy, Mr. Deeds) and Rob Schneider (The Animal, 50 First Dates), who had jetted into Dublin for the Irish premiere of their new movie ‘You Don’t Mess With the Zohan’. more
‘Occi vs The World’ Poised for Sligo Shoot
Irish / German co-production ‘Occi vs The World’, written and directed by Conor McDermottroe (A Woman’s Hair), is set to begin filming on September 8th 2008 on location in Sligo. Brit actress Jodie Whittaker ( Venus), Tom Burke (The Libertine) and Irish actress Susan Lynch (Noral) will star. more
RTÉ Clocks 1500 Hours of Olympic Coverage
RTÉ is set to screen more than 1500 hours of coverage of the 2008 Beijing Olympics across television, radio and online at RTE.ie this August, kicking off with the opening ceremony at 1pm on Friday 8th August and ending on the closing day on Sunday 24th August. more
Fassbender Dives into Arnold’s ‘Fish Tank’
Irish actor Michael Fassbender (Hunger, 300) has been confirmed as the star of award-winning writer /director Andrea Arnold’s ‘Fish Tank’, alongside UK actors Harry Treadaway (Control, City of Ember), Kierston Wareing (It’s a Free World), Kate Jarvis and Rebecca Griffiths, currently filming on location in England. more

Boorman Brings ‘Memoirs of Hadrian’ to Screen
Oscar and IFTA nominated director John Boorman (Deliverance, Excalibur, The Tiger’s Tail) is set to film long awaited project ‘Memoirs of Hadrian’, which follows the life of the Roman Emperor most famous in the UK for building the wall that separated England and Scotland. more
RTÉ.ie Produces Debut Multimedia TV Series
RTÉ.ie has produced a new multi-media three-part television series, ‘Global Classroom’, to air on RTÉ One’s Six One News and RTÉ Two’s News on Two on the 28th, 29th and 30th July. more
Maguire’s ‘Out in Africa’ to Premiere at GAZE
Tom Maguire’s documentary feature ‘Out in Africa’, produced by Borderline Productions, is set to premiere at this year’s GAZE film festival, which takes place from Thursday 31 July – Monday 4 August 2008. more
New Irish Docos Screen for Children’s Relief Fund
The Button Factory, Temple Bar is set to host a screening of two short documentaries in aid of the Children’s Relief Fund – ‘Children of Manila’ and ‘The Cemetery People’, directed by Irish-based helmer Alessandro Molatore, at 8pm on Wednesday 26th August, 2008. more
