The third series of ‘What in the World?’, which focuses on the topics of globalisation and human rights, begins tonight on RTE One. Irish director Liz Gill (Goldfish Memory, Hide & Seek) tells IFTN of her experiences filming the first episode ‘The General’s Genocide’ in Burma and Thailand. more

RTÉ & TV3 Score UEFA Football Rights
RTÉ has secured the Irish terrestrial rights to Wednesday night UEFA Champions League matches with coverage of the UEFA Champions League Final and the UEFA Super Cup, while TV3 has won the rights to Tuesday night UEFA Champions League matches for three seasons commencing in Sept 2009. more
St John’s Students Filming ‘Mad Pride’ Documentary
Film, TV and Video Production students from St John’s Central College, Cork are set to film a documentary on International Mad Pride Day taking place in Fitzgerald’s Park, Cork, on Sunday June 8th. more
National Film School Graduate Showcase
The National Film School at IADT Dun Laoghaire will showcase the films of the Film and TV Production degree’s graduating class of 2008 in the new Lighthouse Cinema on Monday 9th June at 6.30pm. more
Wicklow Council to Recognise Young Filmmakers
Wicklow County Council is set to award €2,750 in prize money to local filmmakers between 18 – 25 years of age with the 2008 Bursary Awards. more
Galway Film Fair Deadline Approaches
The Galway Film Fleadh are seeking in development and completed film / documentary projects to take part in this year’s Galway Film Fair, taking place from the 11th-12th July at the Galway Film Fleadh 2008. The deadline for entering projects is Friday 6th of June.more
