Irish director John Crowley has scooped a Director Fiction / Entertainment BAFTA for Channel 4 drama ‘Boy A’, while Morna Ferguson and Lorraine Glynn from ‘My Boy Jack’ picked up a Make-Up and Hair Design accolade at the BAFTA TV Craft Awards 2008. more
 Directors Szabó, Jordan & Recks For FERA
Dublin will play host to the General Assembly of the Federation of European Film and Television Directors (FERA) from 30 May - 1 June. Guests at the AGM will include Hungarian director István Szabó (Being Julia), Oscar-winning Irish writer/director Neil Jordan (The Crying Game, and IFTA winning director Declan Recks (Pure Mule). more

 ‘Spiderhole’ Wraps Kerry Shoot
Horror film ‘Spiderhole’, produced by Irishman Patrick O’Neill, has wrapped a 19 day shoot on location in Co. Kerry. The feature, written and directed by English helmer Daniel Simpson, will now shoot final footage on location in London. more
Irish Author Pens Superhero Movie Guide
Debut Irish author Liam Burke has penned a guide to Superhero Movies, set to hit bookshops later this month. The book, ‘Pocket Essential Superhero Movies’, tracks the history of comic book characters being brought to life on the cinema screen. more

Animation Series ‘On the Air’ on BBC NI
The second series of comic animated series ‘On the Air’ is currently airing Fridays at 10.35pm on BBC One NI. The ten-part series, produced by Belfast-based animation studio Flickerpix, features popular Northern Irish radio host Gerry Anderson and his faithful sidekick Sean Coyle in 3D animation. more
