New ITV drama series ‘Rock Rivals’, produced by Shed Productions, is currently shooting on location in Dublin. ‘Rock Rivals’ will follow the escapades of bickering husband and wife team Marina and Mal Faith, celebrity judges on an X-Factor style show. X-Factor creator Simon Cowell’s production company Syco will co-produce. more
 Primetime Emmy Nods for Irish Talent
Four Irish crew members of the Showtime TV series ‘The Tudors’ have received Emmy nominations for their work on the hit series, which filmed in Ireland last year. Irish/American actor Aidan Quinn has also received a Supporting Actor nomination for his work on ‘Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee’. more

RTE has reported the death of Irish screen actress Joan O’Hara. O'Hara was best known for her role as Eunice in the television soap ‘Fair City’, which she played for over 13 years. more
UTV Commission New Gerry Kelly Series
UTV has commissioned Hinman Media to produce a four-part prime-time special with presenter Gerry Kelly. The hour-long programmes, filmed on location in the United States and Ireland, will see Gerry in conversation with a range of famous faces. more
Terry George Tipped to Direct ‘Edwin A. Salt’
Northern Irish director Terry George (Hotel Rwanda, Some Mother's Son) is in negotiations with Columbia Pictures to direct Kurt Wimmer’s spy-thriller ‘Edwin A.Salt. Tom Cruise is tipped for the title role, with Lorenzo di Bonaventura (Transformers) and Sunil Perkash producing. more

‘Sesame Street’ Producer Q&A at IFI

Fujifilm Introduces ETERNA RDI/CI Stock
Fujifilm Ireland Ltd. has added three new camera stocks to its range for Digital Film Recording and Duplication. The ETERNA RDI and ETERNA CI stocks are designed for release printing, while the new Camera Negative ETERNA Vivid 160T replaces the Super F 125 stock. more
