‘Pilgrim Hill’ To Be Released Today
Irish feature ‘Pilgrim Hill’ opens in cinemas today after a red carpet gala screening of the film on Wednesday night at The Light House Cinema. Guests at the screening included cast and crew, actors Dohmnall and Brian Gleeson along with writer-director Gerard Barrett. Barrett, who won the Irish Film Board Rising Star award at this year's IFTA ceremony was also on hand for a post-screening Q&A with RTÉ Arena presenter Séan Rocks. The film, set in North Kerry and shot on a budget of €4,500 tells the story of one Irish farmer's struggle with loneliness and isolation and has experienced success since it premiered at last year's Galway Film Fleadh. It won the ‘New Talent Award’ at the Fleadh before its director was named the next ‘Great Expectation’ at the Telluride Film Festival in the US.
