Lighthouse Studios to be launched by Cartoon Saloon & Mercury Filmworks

Irish Film Board updates 2017 Funding Guidelines

Guidelines for the production and development schemes have been updated by the IFB, with filmmakers intending to apply for funding this year encouraged to familiarise themselves with the documents in advance of submissions. The level of funding available is shown in addition to which applicants or projects are eligible to apply.

US Rights to ‘The Pilgrimage’ from Irish Director Brendan Muldowney acquired by RLJ Entertainment

The project which filmed in Co. Mayo and Co. Galway, in addition to its the Ardennes in Belgium is set in 13th century Ireland. The rights have been bought in a seven figure deal between XYZ Films, WME Global and RLJ Entertainment, and was brokered by Nate Bolotin.

‘The Irish Post’ Buys Irish TV Name & Assets

'The Irish Post' an Irish diaspora newspaper based in the UK and owned by Elgin Loane from Cork has agreed a transaction in relation to certain business assets of Irish TV with Michael McAteer of Grant Thornton, Dublin. The transaction will be subject to approval of the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission and the Minister for Communications, Energy and Natural Resources.

Findings from a new report commissioned by RTÉ and conducted by consultants in the UK Mediatique, has concluded that: "RTÉ could expect up to €19m from Sky and €11m from Virgin."

SXSW to mark World Premiere of ‘Song of Granite’ from Pat Collins
