Kingdom and International markets. The award will be presented at the 2006 Annual RAAM Conference which will be held at the Moat House Hotel Glasgow on the 15th February.
Tony Meehan, Chairman of RAAM commented;
“In his own words Brendan McCaul is the “Dean of the Faculty” of the Irish Cinema industry. To many he is responsible for the success and growth of the Irish Cinema market over the past 25 years. A tireless worker and outspoken critic of what he considers bad practice he is the champion of all that is good and positive.
“The Board of RAAM unanimously agreed that his energy and honesty should be recognised in a tangible form, and he was the “leader of the pack” in this year’s list of potential recipients.”
In recent years BVI distributed a number of Irish titles including David Gleeson’s debut feature ‘Cowboys & Angels’, Paddy Breathnach’s ‘Man About Dog’ and Gillies Mackinnon’s ‘Tara Road’. In 2006 they are set to release Paul Mercier’s debut film ‘Studs’ on the 16th of March 2006.
