Barry Keoghan has been announced as a special guest at the Fastnet Film Festival in Schull in May.
Irish actor Barry Keoghan, best known for his Oscar nominated role in The Banshees of Inisherin, Saltburn and The Killing of a Sacred Deer will attend the West Cork based film festival Fastnet Film Festival as the “latest super-guest”.
The news follows the recent announcement at ComicCon that Keoghan will star as Ringo Star in Sam Mendes’ Beatles biopics alongside Irish actor Paul Mescal.
According to their website, Fastnet Film Festival is “a short film festival without a cinema providing those who attend with many alternatives, from screenings on Cape Clear, the village hall, local hotel, to café viewing in numerous local pubs and restaurants in town. Over 500 short films from over 40 countries are entered into competition each year for a share in the cash prize fund of €45,000. The Festival focuses on the craft of filmmaking hosting seminars, workshops and masterclasses with industry experts on all aspects of the film industry. Fringe events include a film quiz, live music, family entertainment and much more.”
Other special guests in attendance include Domhnall Gleeson, Maria Doyle Kennedy, Maureen Hughes, Ronan Day-Lewis, Nathan Nugent and many more.
The festival will run from Wednesday May 21 to Sunday May 25 2025.
