Short Film Award Scheme Winners Announced
11 Dec 2009 | Filmbase and RTÉ have announced the winners of the second round of the 2009 Filmbase/RTÉ Short film award scheme. Three projects were chosen out of over 250 applications received earlier this year, namely ‘Billy and Chuck’, ‘Dead Load’ and ‘Til Death Do Us Part’ and will now receive funding.

Irish Film Board Pleased with 2010 Budget Allocation
10 Dec 2009 | The 2009 budget for Bord Scannán na hÉireann/the Irish Film Board (IFB) has been announced by the Department of Arts, Sport and Tourism as €19.3 million for 2010 which represents a 5% cut from the 2009 budget allocation.

Morris & Buster Present Screen Training Ireland Course
10 Dec 2009 | FÁS Screen Training Ireland has announced a new course it will run in association with the Galway Film Centre. The course is entitled Dialogue Writing and will run on the 17th and 18th of December in Galway. The speakers at the event will be script consultant Bobette Buster (Behind the Red Door), and comedy writer and producer Iain Morris (The Inbetweeners).
