The 37th Celtic Media Festival has just kicked off in Dungarvan, County Waterford with a massive 42 Irish productions nominated in 23 award categories including Arts, Comedy, Current Affairs, Drama Series, Factual Single and Sport.
Irish productions nominated include ‘Cumann na mBan - Mná na Réabhlóide’, ‘One Million Dubliners’, ‘The Notorious’ and ‘Boogaloo and Graham’.

Although the Festival is primarily for industry delegates, there will be a wider programme of events this year.
Speaking to IFTN this morning, Festival Director, Catriona Logan said: "Today marks the beginning of the 37th Celtic Media Festival, and we're delighted to be in Dungarvan for the next few days. There are a lot of exciting things happening throughout the Festival, including our inaugural International Pitching Forum, and some brilliant sessions that bring together some of the most talented minds in the Celtic film and television industries. We're excited to welcome commissioners, directors and producers, alongside influential figures within the media industry, including Oscar-nominated director Birger Larsen, Chief Executive of Broadcasting Authority of Ireland, Michael O’Keeffe and many more."
The Celtic Media Festival runs until April 22nd. Stay tuned to IFTN for Torc Award winners as they come in.
