Máire Ní Thuathail is founder and Managing Director of Eo Teilifis Teo. An Agricultural Science graduate from UCD, Maire later joined Bord na Gaeilge as an education Executive. In 1988, Máire decided upon a change of career and joined COCO Television as a researcher on the successful youth magazine series, Púiríní. In 1988, Máire founded EO Teilifís which focused it’s early years on children’s programming and today EO’s programming range includes Drama, Childrens, Documentary and TG4’s flagship soap ‘Ros na Rún’ now in it’s 11th year of production.
Over the years the company has won it’s fair share of awards, In 1996 EO’s children’s series “Mire Mara” won Best Children’s Proramme at the Celtic Film and Television Festival, In 1997 Maire was awarded the accolade Ireland’s Young Business Woman of the Year and in 2005 EO’s Arts Documentary “Concerto do Chaitlín Maude” won at the Irish Film & Television awards.
