Room is based on the 2010 coming-of-age novel by Irish-Canadian author Emma Donoghue. The story is told from the perspective of a five-year-old boy, Jack, who is being held captive in a small room along with his mother.
The project received €61,000 in development funding from the Irish Film Board in 2013.
