Andrew joined the NIFC from a production background. After leaving school he spent a year out with the Belfast based production company HETV. He then went on to university to study film and television production. After working on several television dramas with BBC Northern Ireland, the BBC sent him to London to train as a Location Manager.
There followed location managing for BBC Television Drama, production managing of commercials and 1st AD on short films, mainly in the UK, as well as working on documentaries in Rwanda, Tanzania, USA, Turkey and Sri Lanka. In July 1997 he join the NIFC and has since worked with 16 feature films and television drama productions made on location in Northern Ireland.
Areas of responsibility:
All aspects of physical production;
liaising with producers in receipt of NIFC and ACNI Lottery funds;
promotion of Northern Ireland’s locations crews and facilities;
Premiere and Deviate, the NIFC’s short film schemes;
managing the Irish Pavilion at Cannes 2000 and 2001.
