The Oscar-nominated Kerry Condon, who took home the IFTA for Best Supporting Actress (Film) at the 20th anniversary IFTA Awards last weekend, will join Brad Pitt in Apple Studios’ currently untitled F1 racing film from director Joseph Kosinski (Top Gun: Maverick).
Kosinski will produce the film with Jerry Bruckheimer and Chad Oman for Jerry Bruckheimer Films (Top Gun: Maverick), seven-time Formula One champion Lewis Hamilton will produce for his Dawn Apollo banner and Plan B. Copper CEO Penni Thow serves as executive producer.
The film follows Pitt as a racer who comes out of retirement to mentor a younger driver and join the younger driver as his teammate. Condon is set to play the team’s Technical Director, overseeing the design and development of the race car. Condon and Pitt will also be joined by Damson Idris (Swarm, Black Mirror).
This is Apple Studios’ second feature with Pitt and Plan B Entertainment. Pitt and Plan B, along with George Clooney’s Smokehouse, are also collaborating on an untitled film starring Pitt and Clooney, directed by Jon Watts (Spider-Man: No Way Home).
Condon will be seen next with Jude Law in Disney+’s Star Wars: Skeleton Crew, directed by Jon Watts and written by Chris Ford (Spider-Man: Homecoming). Condon will also star in the supernatural thriller Night Swim, from Atomic Monster and Blumhouse, alongside Wyatt Russell.
She is also slated to join the cast of In The Land Of Saints And Sinners alongside Liam Neeson (Ordinary Love), Ciarán Hinds (The Dry), Sarah Greene (Bad Sisters), Colm Meaney (Marlowe), Jack Gleeson (Game of Thrones), Seamus O’Hara (An Irish Goodbye), and Desmond Eastwood (Barber).
