Three new blended film courses available this February at Griffith College Dublin

Griffith College is accepting applications this February.
This February, Griffith College Dublin are offering three new blended Film certificates validated by QQI, in Digital Cinematography & Image Grading, Screen Production, and Screen Media Production for small to medium enterprises.

These new courses are a great way to step your foot into the film industry, upskill and gain a professional qualification in these areas.

All programmes offer practical hands-on-classes, are career focused and delivered by current industry practitioners, with a wide range of professional broadcast and cinema equipment.

Certificate in Digital Cinematography and Image Grading

This programme will equip students with the knowledge and practical and conceptual skills to work as a camera assistant, camera operator, or self-shooting content producer/director.

This programme, gives students that opportunity gain a broad and deep education in cinematography and image grading, developing vital professional skills in camera operations, lighting, camera movement, working with clients and image finishing. Interpersonal and communication skills are vital in this industry and will also be developed as part of this programme.

Throughout the duration of their programme, learners will have access to:

Certificate in Screen Production

The Certificate in Screen Production equips learners with the abilities to conceive ideas and develop original material suitable to approach the production of a short factual item for multiplatform distribution.

This is a programme taught by filmmakers for people who want to make films. Stemming from the Screen Media Production module of Griffith's innovative BA in Film, TV & Screen Media Production, this fully practical course is based on current industry best-practice in short-form screen media content production and emulates real-world film, TV and screen media industry processes to give learners with the fundamental practical skills to produce short-form audio-visual branded or commercial content for multiplatform distribution.

Learners are immersed in the practical skills needed in each phase of screen media production - pre-production, production and post-production – so they can make their own informed, logical and creative decisions at every stage.

Certificate in Screen Media Production for Small to Media Enterprises

The Certificate in Screen Media Production for SMEs gives you the skills, knowledge, competencies and experience to fulfil the now vital need for in-house video production capabilities in SMEs. This programme is targeted at learners who wish to become in-house video content production specialists within their companies or who wish to provide these services to clients on a freelance basis.

Through the programme's four modules, Writing for Screen, Storytelling for Screen, Presentation and TV Studio Basics and Screen Production, you will learn the principles of storytelling for screen, presenting skills including TV studio basics, followed by the full range of corporate and commercial content production skills.

First students will learn how to develop their content ideas, then how to prep those ideas through pre-production, and through producing, directing, camera and sound skills how to produce those ideas. Finally you’ll bring your content together through editing and post-production. This is all done through your own learner-generated commercial or corporate video production project.

Students will learn the principles of storytelling for screen, presenting skills including TV studio basics, followed by the full range of corporate and commercial content production skills of idea development, filming prep and pre-production, production (directing, camera and sound recording) and post-production and editing, through a learner-generated commercial or corporate video production project.
