The Broadcasting Authority of Ireland (BAI) and the Canada Media Fund (CMF) have announced an investment of over €94,000 to support the co-development of audiovisual content under the Canada-Ireland Co-development Incentive for Audio-Visual Projects.
Three Irish production companies will work with three Canadian companies in the development of the following projects:
#IBelieveHer
Pembridge Film Production Ltd. (Irish applicant), Plausible Commn. Corp. (Canadian applicant)
BAI €20,000, CMF $14,700
Craic House
O’Sullivan Productions Ltd. (Irish applicant), Cedar Island Films Inc. (Canadian applicant)
BAI €14,170, CMF $25,804
Where the Wild Geese Go
El Zorrero Films (Irish applicant), Stitch Media Ontario Inc. (Canadian applicant)
BAI €15,000, CMF $25,000
Now in its fourth year, the CMF and BAI have provided over €406,261 (CAN$589,078) to finance the co-development of 14 projects to date. To be eligible for funding, the selected projects must be intended for broadcast by eligible Irish and Canadian broadcasters, involving at least one Irish producer and one Canadian producer.
The incentive funds television projects and digital media extensions of such television projects, which fulfill both the objectives and themes of BAI’s Sound and Vision Scheme and the guidelines of the CMF. Projects were evaluated and chosen by a selection committee composed of representatives from both funding organisations.
A total of €410,000 is being made available over a three-year period to support Irish and Canadian producers to develop co-productions for broadcast on Irish and Canadian television services.
Producers interested in finding an international partner as part of this development incentive are invited to post a profile of their company on the CMF’s website – here.
