Women in Animation Ireland to Present Speed Meeting Event
01 Jul 2019 : News Desk
Women in Animation
In association with Animation Ireland, Animation Skillnet and Screen Skills Ireland, Women in Animation Ireland are presenting the ‘Happy Hour Hustle: Frameworks 2020 Edition’, in DTwo, Dublin from 5-6.30pm on Friday 16th August.

The ‘Happy Hour Hustle: Frameworks 2020 Edition’ is a speed meeting event between writers, directors and producers who are interested in applying for the animated short film scheme, Frameworks, in 2020. Frameworks is an established scheme funded by RTE and Screen Ireland for the making of animated short films, which has been incredibly successful in stimulating ground-breaking new work from Irish animators. Successful projects include Louise Bagnall and Nuria Gonzalez-Blanco’s 2019 Oscar-nominated short animation, ‘Late Afternoon’.

Bagnall discussed the merits of the Frameworks programme when she spoke with IFTN earlier this year

The speed-meeting event is designed to meet as many like-minded lead creatives as possible in a very structured 90-minute session consisting of 5-minute one-on-one speed pitch meetings between participants. Once the networking event is completed everyone is invited to a more casual event, the ‘Creative Cookout’, where guests can continue conversations at their own pace, and meet other members of the animation community. This is attended by studio owners, directors, producers, animators and designers from all around Ireland.

Producers, Directors and Writers of all levels of experience are welcome at the event, however the Frameworks scheme is not open to full-time students. Spaces at the event are limited and must be booked in advance.
