IFTA Hosting TV Comedy Panel Event
02 Oct 2017 :
Eddie Doyle
The Irish Academy is hosting an event focusing on scripted comedy for television

Confirmed panelists to date include Eddie Doyle, RTE’s Head of Comedy, Talent Development and Music, Jason Butler the director, co-writer and producer of Bridget & Eamon, Andy Quirke, the creator of Damo & Ivor, which has just finished filming the feature length film, and Alison Spittle, who’s show Nowhere Fast, produced by DeadPan Pictures, airs as part of RTE’s autumn schedule.

The event is well timed, ahead of the November deadline for applications for funding towards four comedy pilots. The initiative is supported by RTE and the Irish Film Board.

IFTN recently reported on RTE’s involvement on the biopic about Dave Allen, starring Aidan Gillen, which finished filming in Belfast late September.

The IFTA Panel event takes place on Tuesday 10th October .  Further information about the event is available from academyevents@ifta.ie
