‘Mrs Brown's Boys’ is returning to screens this Christmas for two special episodes on. Brendan O'Carroll's sitcom will be heading back to BBC1 for Agnes Brown's Christmas antics.
Back in August of this year, ‘Mrs Brown's Boys’ was named the Best Sitcom of the 21st Century in a Radio Times Poll and more recently Brendan O'Carroll won an IFTA for Best Male Performance at the Irish Gala Television awards in October for the show.
Back in the 2012 ‘Mrs Brown's Boys’ Christmas special ‘Mammy Christmas’, Cathy tricks Agnes into believing that she's being secretly filmed for a TV show to find the Best Christmas Mother.
For this year’s special however expect to see episode 1 entitled ‘Mammy's Forest’ and episode 2 ‘Chez Mammy’ give you a little insight into the Brown Household this Christmas as there is hassle with tree’s, things become a little to heated for Rory and Dino, a new French boyfriend rolls in to town for Cathy and a prescription for medical marijuana and a new stair-lift offers new heights for Grandad.
Director of BBC content Charlotte Moore said: ‘We’ve pulled out all the stops this Christmas to bring the nation together with a sparkling line-up of family favourites, brand new treats and festive specials on BBC television.”
Other Christmas content to feature across all BBC platforms also includes special episodes of Sherlock, Doctor Who and an adaptation of Roald Dahl’s Revolting Rhymes.
