Northern Ireland screen are looking to appoint up to three independent representatives for the Ulster-Scots Broadcast Fund (USBF) Investment Committee.
The USBF was set up five years ago to provide finance for the production of quality moving image projects on the Ulster-Scots heritage, culture and language in Northern Ireland.
The Fund has worked with a range of broadcasters including BBCNI, UTV, STV and RTÉ and has commissioned 92 hours of television and supported 3 digital content projects.
The USBF Committee’s role is to make decisions on all applications submitted to the USBF; act as an advisory panel to Northern Ireland Screen’s board on any matters relating to Ulster-Scots; advise on how to maximise the effectiveness of the USBF in delivering against its objectives and promote the work of the fund.
Committee Members are appointed for a 3 year term and it is anticipated that the Committee will have a minimum of 3 meetings per annum. A one day training session forms part of the Committee induction process for new members. Through this training Committee Members will learn more about the work of both Northern Ireland Screen and the USBF. The role of Committee member is a non-remunerated position.
Any interested applicants must be able to:
- Demonstrate an interest in and links to Ulster-Scots language, heritage and/or culture
- Clearly articulate how they would support the USBF to achieve its objectives and promote the work of the USBF
All applicants are required to submit an Application Form and Monitoring Form. The closing date for applications is midday, Friday September 23rd
