'The Pat Kenny Show' Returns for Forth Season on TV3 - Wednesday, Jan. 31st
31 Jan 2018 : Nathan Griffin
A brand new season of ‘The Pat Kenny Show’ will air on TV3 tonight - Wednesday 31st January at 10pm. Former IFTA Lifetime Recipient Pat Kenny also celebrates his 70th birthday today ahead of his fourth series of his show.

This season, Pat and guests will be discussing the important issues of the week, with a live studio audience. Pat will also be broadcasting from around the country with special themed shows on the issues that matter to you.

In tonight’s episode, ‘The Pat Kenny Show’ will be broadcasting from Chef Neven Maguire’s restaurant in Blacklion on the Cavan / Fermanagh border.

In this special show, Pat and guests will be looking at the future of rural towns like Blacklion in the face of challenges including lack of investment and the possible return of a hard border.

Pat will be talking to columnist and Derry footballing legend Joe Brolly about Brexit and how it will affect rural border communities. Fr Brian D’Arcy will also be joining the show to give his take on the future of rural Ireland and the shows panel of politicians from across the political spectrum will be debating all the issues.

Commenting on the return of the current affairs show, Pat Kenny said;

2018 is going to be a compelling year in politics with Brexit, the referendum on the 8th Amendment and the clock ticking down to a general election. We’re going to be pretty full on covering all this on The Pat Kenny Show. Abortion has been the most divisive issue in Ireland for debate in previous campaigns and I suspect this one will be emotionally charged”.

“We’re looking forward to bringing the facts of the matter and people’s personal stories to the nation. With the unpredictability of Donald Trump’s presidency and the ever present possibility of a political banana-skin leading to a general election, we’re going to have to be on our toes and I’m looking forward to it.”

‘The Pat Kenny Show’ returns to TV3 tonight on Wednesday 31st January at 10pm.
