The Irish director takes the helm of the longest-running British crime drama currently airing on TV this Monday, January 14th and Tuesday, January 15th at 9pm.
O'Sullivan takes on the third and fourth episode of Season 22, titled ‘Lift Up Your Hearts’.
The two-part episode will see the unit deal with a new case after a teenage boy is senselessly killed in a meth lab explosion, which leads his head teacher to confront the drug dealers preying on his community. Dangerous batches of new drugs are hitting the streets, and the effects are evident to Nikki, Jack, Clarissa and Thomas as they deal with the rise in both violent and accidental deaths.
O’Sullivan first came to prominence after winning the Best Short Film BAFTA for ‘The Woman Who Married Clark Gable’, going on to forge a career as both a cinematographer and director on various television series and films. In 2009, O’Sullivan directed the highly succesful TV Movie ‘Into The Storm’ about Winston Churchill’s endeavours during WWII was nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award and won an IFTA Film and Televsion Award for Best Director - Television
The first part of the episode will air Monday Night and part two will air on Tuesday night at 9pm respectively.
