Speaking at Bow Street’s annual Programme Graduation Showcase at The Lighthouse Cinema in Dublin on Thursday, June 23rd, Directors Maureen Hughes and Shimmy Marcus will be launching two new courses.
Invited guests from the Film & TV Industry will hear about a new four week full time Creative Filmmaking & Directing Actors course aimed at filmmakers looking to develop their creative projects and vision, and get more direct experience and guidance on working with actors.
Bow Street’s Screen Acting Part Time course has now been expanded to a six month course offering more in depth modules and screen acting techniques.
“We have seen huge improvements in our students who have graduated from this course and some recent graduates are already signing with an agent.” says Shimmy Marcus. “We use many of the techniques taught on our Full Time Programme and it’s exciting to see how quickly the students’ progress.”
Maureen Hughes adds: “We’re very proud of the work on show tonight - and of our recent graduates who have landed roles in many upcoming productions such as Cathy Brady’s ‘Can’t Cope Wont Cope’, a pilot episode entitled ‘Dawn’ for MGM and Hulu, ‘Rebellion” for RTÉ, Nick Kelly’s ‘The Drummer and The Goalkeeper’ and Gerard Barrett’s ’Smalltown’.
