Irish actor Michael Fassbender is in talks to star as an Austrian serial killer in ‘Entering Hades’.
Fassbender’s DMC Films will also produce the feature along with Broad Green Pictures and Storyscape Entertainment, according to Variety.
‘Entering Hades’ is based on the true story of Jack Unterweger, a journalist who commits heinous crimes against women, then reports about them in the periodicals for which he writes. It is based on John Leake’s true crime novel on the killer with Alexander Dinelaris (Oscar winner for ‘Birdman’) currently re-writing a script from Bill Wheeler.
Fassbender had a very busy 2015 taking the lead in three major motion pictures – ‘Steve Jobs’, ‘Slow West’ and ‘Macbeth’ - and receiving acclaim for all three. For his performance as late Apple Tycoon Steve Jobs in Danny Boyle’s film of the same, Fassbender received Oscar, Golden Globe and BAFTA nominations as well as winning the IFTA for Best Lead Actor.
Upcoming projects of Fassbender’s include ‘The Light Between Oceans’ (starring alongside recent Oscar winner Alicia Vikander), ‘Trespass Against Us’ (with Brendan Gleeson), ‘X Men Apocalypse’ (where he once again plays Magneto), ‘Assassin’s Creed’ (where he plays the lead role of Aguilar), ‘Alien: Covenant’ (once again playing the robot David) and ‘The Snowman’.
