HBO has commissioned an entire series of Irish actress and writer Sharon Horgan's comedy 'Divorce', starring Sarah Jessica Parker.
Horgan's first series in the US will see the former ‘Sex and the City’ star play a New York woman who attempts to divorce her husband - but finds the process a lot more convoluted than she expected.
Horgan is best known for writing and starring in ‘Bad Management’, ‘Dead Boss’ and most recently ‘Catastrophe’. She also wrote and starred in the BBC series ‘Pulling’, which earned her two BAFTA nominations in 2007 and 2009 as well as two British Comedy Awards in 2008 and 2009.
She has also made an appearance in the latest series of the International Emmy-winning Irish rural comedy ‘Moone Boy’.
As well as having written ‘Divorce’ she will co-produce alongside Parker, Paul Simms, Aaron Kaplan and Alison Benson.
Other actors confirmed to star in the series include Thomas Haden Church, Molly Shannon, and Talia Balsam.
‘Catastrophe’ which aired to great success on Channel 4 in the UK and Ireland, will also be available in the US from June. It has also been commissioned for a second series in the UK.
