Places are now available for a number of ILBF (Irish Language Broadcast Fund) training schemes due to commence in September 2014. Each scheme lasts a year and successful applicants will be based with a local production company or with community television in Belfast.
The ILBF offers several different training opportunities for Irish speakers working or aspiring to work in the independent production sector in Northern Ireland. Applicants must be able to demonstrate that they have at least one year of relevant television production experience and also be fluent in Irish.
The ILBF offers support for a variety of training roles which are focused on addressing the current production skills deficits within the sector. The ILBF will not be running the New Entrants Scheme this year, however there will be training schemes made available to Irish speakers who have at least one year’s experience in the production sector.
The training schemes are as follows:
- Assistant Producer Trainee Scheme
- Video Journalist Trainee Scheme
- Sound Technician for Drama Trainee Scheme
- Script Continuity for Drama Trainee Scheme
Those interested should complete an application form with a cover letter clearly stating the scheme which they are interested in applying for and why they are suited to it to brid@northernirelandscreen.co.uk by 31st July 2014.
All applicants must also return a Monitoring Form and an up-to-date CV. Application Forms and Monitoring Forms are available to download here. Interviews will take place in Belfast in mid-August.
The ILBF is an initiative of Northern Ireland Screen.
