Irish actor Jack Reynor will be the recipient of this year's Rising Star honour at the upcoming CinemaCon Big Screen Achievement Awards in Las Vegas on March 27.
The ‘Transformers’ star will be honoured alongside his co-star Nicola Peltz, who made her feature film debut in ‘Deck the Halls’ with Danny DeVito and also appeared in ‘Eye of the Hurricane’, ‘Last Airbender’ and Universal Televisions ‘Bates Motel’.
The newly engaged star is currently shooting the new adaptation of ‘Macbeth’ with Michael Fassbender and Marion Cotillard. Reynor shot into the spotlight in Lenny Abrahamson’s ‘What Richard Did’, which later earned him a Best Actor IFTA, and more recently appeared in the Vince Vaughn ‘Delivery Man’. He has also just wrapped filming on the human trafficking story “Glassland” alongside Toni Collette.
CinemaCon managing director Mitch Neuhauser said: "With their upcoming appearance in ‘Transformers: Age of Extinction’, Jack Reynor and Nicola Peltz are sure to show Hollywood that they are forces to be reckoned with.”
Last year’s winner of the Rising Star award was Asa Butterfield (Ender's Game, The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas).
Reynor’s upcoming movie ‘Transformers: Age of Extinction’ opens in Irish cinemas on 10 July 2014.
