In today’s Daily Bite, distribution company Entertainment One has seen an increase in its revenues; HBO pours cold water on inking a deal with Netflix; and a first-look at ‘There Will Be Blood’ director Paul Thomas Anderson’s new film ‘The Master’.
Entertainment One revenues up 16 per cent… Distribution company Entertainment One has seen revenue grow by 16 per cent from last April until this month, reports Broadcast. The TV division of the company delivered 67 half-hours of programming, which has resulted in an increase of 200 per cent in revenue for the department. International sales of the company’s TV portfolio are expected to continue to grow. The film division – which recently acquired the UK and Ireland rights to forthcoming Chris O’Dowd-starring movie ‘The Sapphires’ saw its revenues grow marginally from the same period last year.
HBO pours cold water on NetFlix deal… HBO have poured cold water on rumours that the station was set to sign a deal with online streaming service Netflix. Netflix CEO Reed Hastings had yesterday raised the possibility that his video rental company could partner with HBO. However, HBO issued a statement to say that they were “not in discussions and have no plans to work with Netflix.” The news comes as Netflix stock fell by more than 13 per cent on the stock markets.
