Dublin's vStream Wrap Jameson Distillery Short

Dublin-based digital content production company vStream’s latest project has completed post-production and is available to view in the Old Jameson Distillery as part of the Distillery Tour.

The digital media company beat off stiff competition from UK-based production houses to work on post-production for Jameson’s 11-minute film about its founder and the Dublin distillery.

The film tells the story of John Jameson, one of the world’s most successful brewers of Irish whiskey, played by Bryan Murray (Fair City), and is set in 1802, making it the first time in Jameson’s history the company has given a voice to its founder.

VStream worked with UK-based agency Contagious on the short, which was shot over five days in Midleton and Ardmore Studios. VStream looked after all post-production, which included the task of recreating College Green in 1802.

VStream's Niall O'Driscoll wrote and directed the short, while Paul Tulley at Fuel TV provided production services. Ruairi O’Brien was the director of photography and IFTA Award-winner Anna Rackard was the art director.

Contagious’ Vaughan Yates praised the vStream team’s professionalism and work ethic, outlining the reason vStream was chosen above any other post-house was down to the company’s creativity.

He said: “Having interviewed several companies from the UK we made the decision to place the business in Ireland with vStream due to their creative response to the brief and superior understanding of the brand”.

It is expected 1.2 million will see the short, which will be broadcast during Jameson’s Distillery Tour.

VStream Digital Media was established in 2007 by Andrew Jenkinson and Niall O’Driscoll, and offers a range of services, including editing, 3D modelling and animation, high end visual effects and stereoscopic 3D. VStream was the first company in Ireland to shoot and post S3D.
