Irish actor Colin Farrell (Total Recall) is to lend his vocal talents alongside Beyoncé (A Star Is Born), Johnny Knoxville (Jackass), Amanda Seyfried (Dear John) and Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler for ‘Epic’.
The 3D CG action-adventure comedy from Twentieth Century Fox Animation and Blue Sky Studios is being made by the team behind ‘Ice Age’ and ‘Rio’ and will be released on May 24 next.
It will tell the story of “an ongoing battle deep in the forest between the forces of good and the forces of evil. When a teenage girl finds herself magically transported into this secret universe, she must band together with a rag-tag team of fun and whimsical characters in order to save their world…and ours.”
Dublin-born Farrell will voice the character Ronin while Beyoncé will voice Queen Tara. Other actors lending their vocal talents include Josh Hutcherson (The Hunger Games); Aziz Ansari (Parks and Recreation); Jason Sudeikis (Horrible Bosses) and Judah Friedlander (30 Rock).
‘Epic’ is directed by Oscar-winner Chris Wedge, and produced by Lori Forte (Ice Age: Continental Drift) and Jerry Davis (Robots).
