Peter Mullan |
Producers of 'Dragnet' have announced Scottish actor Peter Mullan is to replace Robert Carlyle on the feature which is currently shooting in Ireland. The announcement follows Carlyle’s decision not to return to set after the death of his father Joe earlier this month. |
'Dragnet' director Steven Hudson and the movies' producers at Samson Films are said to be “delighted” that Mullan has agreed to take Carlyle’s lead role in the drama on short notice. He now joins fellow cast members Gary Lewis (Billy Elliott), and Martin Compston (Monarch of the Glen) on set in Co. Wicklow.
Peter Mullan previously directed and starred in the 2002 Irish feature ‘The Magdalene Sisters’ and was most recently seen in the award winning Scottish feature ‘On A Clear Day’.
