David Collins founded Samson Films in 1984, developing strong links with many of the major film and television funding agencies in Ireland and abroad. Recent collaborations include Paramount Pictures, Parallax Pictures, Granada Television, TV3, Universal & Jim Henson, BSkyB, IFB and NIFTC, Pathé, Channel Four, BBC, Eurimages, and RTE. In 2000 David also established Accomplice Television with Ed Guiney of Element Films to specialise in long running television drama series for the international market. In addition to its own production portfolio, Samson has worked in production partnership with a wide variety of independents through Europe, including Road Movies (Germany), Parallax (UK), Zephyr Films (UK), Victoria Film (Scandinavia), Fandango (Italy), Forensic Films (New York) Gruber Films (UK) and Phantavision (Holland). Most recent feature film credits include ASYLUM (2003), BLIND FLIGHT (2003), HONEYMOONERS (2002) and THE ABDUCTION CLUB (2001). Most recent television credits include PURE MULE (2004), BACHELORS WALK 3 Series (2001, 2002, 2003) and WATERMELON (2003). David is an Executive Member of Screen Producers Ireland, the representative association for Irish producers and directors. He is also a member of the European Film Academy.
