#IFTNmarkets: Tile Films Take 'Sacred Sites' & 'Viking Empires' to MIPTV 2018

Tile Films is one of several Irish production companies attending MIPTV 2018 in Cannes this April. Production companies from around the world will be in attendance bringing an slates of their programmes to spring's largest global TV & online distribution market, and leading content development event.

Tile Films’ Managing Director, Stephen Rooke, and Head of Development, David Ryan, will be making the trip to Cannes to represent the company at MIPTV 2018. The two main shows on Tile Films slate being focusing on at the event are ‘Sacred Sites: Season 2’ and ‘Viking Empires’

‘Sacred Sites – Season 2’ (6 x 1hrs) is a returning Ultra High Definition (UHD) international documentary-drama series commissioned by the Smithsonian Channel. Based on new scientific breakthroughs and compelling archaeological and historical research, ‘Sacred Sites of the World’ offers unique new insights on some of the world’s most hallowed shrines, temples and monuments.

‘Viking Empires’ (4 x 1hrs) is another Ultra High-Definition (UHD) documentary-drama series that focuses on the reign of the Viking Empire at its peak. The series is due to go into production later this year and will be a co-production with Canadian production partners Cream Productions from Toronto. The series was developed in association with RTÉ, BAI, Blue Ant Media, and the Canada Media Fund.

Tile Film will be located at the ‘Ireland On Screen’ stand as part of the Irish collaboration between Enterprise Ireland & the Irish Film Board. The Stand number is P-1.A84.

Tile Films are an established HD factual documentary production company, specialising in innovative, Irish and international documentaries and series about people, history, religion, art, culture and travel. The company was founded in 1989 by Stephen Rooke, one of Ireland's leading documentary filmmakers. The focus is on programmes which entertain and educate and have universal appeal.
