BBC Comedy ‘Vexed’ Wraps Production In Ireland

Vexed
BBC detective comedy ‘Vexed’ has completed filming in Dublin and is currently in post-production at Windmill Lane. Produced by Ireland’s Newgrange Pictures and UK company Eleventh Hour Films, the six-part detective comedy began shooting in the capital in mid-January before wrapping its 12-week shoot earlier this month.

Directed by Ireland’s Ian Fitzgibbon (Perrier’s Bounty) and Kieron J.Walsh (RAW), it is currently being edited at Windmill Lane in Dublin by Tony Cranstoun (Death of a Superhero, Him & Her) and Colin Fair (Skins).

The series is being co-produced by Eve Gutierrez (Injustice) for Eleventh Hour Films and Jackie Larkin and Lesley McKimm for Newgrange Pictures.

Speaking to IFTN, McKimm said she was “delighted” with the shoot adding “it’s all gone very well and I think everyone’s very happy with it.”

The series stars Toby Stephens (Jane Eyre) as D.I. Jack Armstrong and Miranda Raison (Spooks) as D.I. Georgina Dixon series is being funded by the BBC with some funding by the Irish Film Board International Production Fund.

DOP on the project was IFTA award winning cinematographer Peter Robertson (Song for a Raggy Boy) who shot it on HD using 2 X ARRI ALEXA.

The series was created by Howard Overman (Misfits) and written by Chris Bucknall (Hustle), James Wood (Freezing), Steve Coombes (Lovejoy), Harry Williams (Roman’s Empire) and Jack Williams (Hotel Bablyon).

Executive producers are Chris Sussman (World’s Craziest Fools) for the BBC and Jill Green (The American) for Eleventh Hour Films.

It is due to air on BBC Two later this year.
