Pre-production has started on independent short film ĎA House of Cardsí which is scheduled to begin shooting in Dublin on 16th April. ĎA House of Cardsí will give an insight in to a difficult family reunion coming to terms with their motherís illness.
Mark McCabe (Sin ť) and Eddie Jackson (Promised Land) wrote the script, with both men also producing and starring in the short. The film will be directed by Jordan Ballantine (Spare Change?) while Alice OíToole will take on the role of executive producer.
Filming will take place at a 19th Century stone manor house in Celbridge, as well as Smithfield and Dublin Airport. The shoot is expected to last three days and will be shot on Red One, with cinematographer Kenneth Adams.
IFTA Award-winner Brendan Conroy (Kings) leads a well-established cast, with Rachel Pilkington (The Clinic), Niamh Shaw (Dorothy Mills), Carla McGlynn (King Of The Travellers) and Steve Hartland (The Importance Of Being Whatever) making up the impressive list. The 15-minute short will be submitted to festivals worldwide upon release.
