Filming on Irish drama 'The Sea' has wrapped in Co Wexford as Dublin post house Windmill Lane Pictures begins post production.

Director Stephen Brown wrapped a five-week shoot last week, with a host of Irish stars including Ciaran Hinds and Sinead Cusack, as well as international stars Natascha McElhone, Charlotte Rampling and Rufus Sewell. English actress Bonnie Wright wrapped her scenes earlier last month, having reunited with her 'Harry Potter' co-star Hinds.

Windmill Lane is looking after all post-production, with IFTA-winning editor Stephen O'Connell (Stardust) in the editor's seat and Niamh Burke-Kennedy (Earthbound) assisting.

'Lockout' duo Eoghan McKenna and Matt Branton are working on rushes processing, with David Hughes looking after grading and Robbie O'Farrell in charge of finishing. Sean McGrath is serving as the post-production co-ordinator.

'The Sea' began filming in Co Wexford last September, marking Brown's feature debut. The film is based on the Man Booker Prize-winning novel by Irish author John Banville, and follows Hinds' character Max as he embarks on a journey of self-discovery upon his return to the sea. In the aftermath of his wife's death, the sea, a place Max visited as a child, proves to also be a place full off both happy and tragic memories.

Dublin's Samson Films is co-producing with Independent, in association with Rooks Nest Entertainment, Quicksilver, Windmill Lane and RTÉ. David Collins (Once) is producing for Samson, with Luc Roeg (We Need To Talk About Kevin) and Michael Robinson of Independent.

Executive producers are Andrew Orr, Philip Herd, Ernest Bachrach, Rebecca Long, Steve Spence, Michael Sackler and Julia Godzinskaya.

Other Irish crew who worked on the project includes director of photography John Conroy (Dark Touch), production designer Derek Wallace (Good Vibrations), line producer Brian Willis (The Boy In The Bubble), and actors Missy Keating (Dark Touch), Matthew Dillon and Padhraig Parkinson.

The film received support from the IFB and the BAI.

The project is scheduled for delivery by Windmill in May, in time for a 2013 release.
