Irish Short ‘It’s A Wonderful Death’ To Shoot At Aviva Stadium
24 May 2012 : By Eva Hall
Eoin Quinn
Irish short film ‘It’s a Wonderful Death’ will start shooting at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin on Saturday (May 26).

Filming will take place on location at the Aviva during the Ireland versus Bosnia match, and will be followed by interior shoots the following week.

‘It’s a Wonderful Death’ tells the story of Michael, a suicidal man who gets a new lease of life after hearing the world is about to end.

Eoin Quinn (Fair City/Limp) will play the lead role of Michael, with Matthew Kelly, Craig Leinster, Lisa Neville and Carol O’Reilly making up the rest of the cast.

Eoin Quinn says ‘It’s a Wonderful Death’ will have a certain resonance in today’s economic climate: “It is very topical in today's times with the recession and I hope playing this part will highlight the terrible tragedy which suicide leaves in its wake”.

Pat Connolly and Paul O’Rourke wrote the script and are producing for Dublin-based Big Salad Productions. Liam Upton (Drown) is directing the short, with Niall Mullins the first assistant director.

Jaroslava Kostova (House in Order) is the director of photography, with Alessandra Usai the production assistant.

Niall Mac Giolla Rua is providing the music, and Liisa Isainmdom is mixing the sound. Liz Talbot will provide the makeup on set.

Big Salad’s founders Connolly, a former writer for Discovery’s children’s series ‘Dinosapien’, and O’Rourke, co-writer of RTÉ radio play ‘The Pursuit of Happiness’, have a vast amount of experience in the media industry. Both writers are currently developing the successful radio play for a film version.
