The forty-hour intensive course runs from July 31st to August 4th in Macnas, Fisheries Field, Galway and is €650 per person.
All materials and tools are supplied but applicants are free to bring their own tools if they wish.
To be a skilled sculptor and have sculpts that stand out, you need to be able to master not only the art of form but also the art of texturing. On a life-size head bust you will be taught to sculpt a wide range of effects.
The course will be taught using a thoroughly hands on approach. You will receive one to one tuition and have an opportunity to watch other people’s skills and techniques.
In order to get the best out of the week it is recommended that you have an idea of what you would like to sculpt beforehand, including sketches and references. This is a 40 hour intensive course, culminating in a finished sculpted character. At the end of the week we will have a photo shoot in order to show your work at its best. The resulting photos will be ideal for your portfolio.
Once you are finished the course you will take home your masterpiece as a reminder of the skills and techniques you have acquired.
