Image Ireland's Double Eye conference line-up
2016-07-22 9:00:00 :
This September, Image Ireland are bringing some of the most influential Visual Effects artists in the world to Dublin for the inaugural Double Eye conference.

Stephen Lohan, CEO of Image Ireland, has assembled a team of VFX artists at the top of their profession who, over two days, will discuss the issues facing the VFX industry and means to navigate them.

Hosted by Scott Ross, who has presided over 7 Oscar wins during his time as a former General Manager of Industrial Light and Magic and Co-Founder of Digital Domain with James Cameron, the event will feature conversations and workshops with VFX artists that are globally highly regarded.

Speakers:

Scott Ross (former GM of LucasFilm, Co-Founder of Digital Domain)
In-Ah Roediger (Guardians of the Galaxy, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire)
Justin Fields (Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, The Wolverine, Founder of IronKlad Studios)
Mike Hill (Apocalypto, Men in Black)
Ben Mauro (The Hobbit Trilogy, Elysium, Chappie)
Alf Loovold (Co-Founder of Gimpville)
Catherine Mullan (Maleficent, Spectre, Happy Feet, Underworld)
Bastiaan Koch (The Avengers, Pacific Rim, Transformers)
Stephen Lohan (Founder of Image Ireland)

The artists will discuss their own work and career learnings, as well as exploring issues including Content Creation, Intellectual Property, gaming vs. motion pictures, tax incentives, building and sustaining a career in VFX and the sustainability of the VFX industry.

Featuring panel discussions, debates, workshops and networking opportunities, the conference will look at the future of the Irish and international VFX industry. Are tax incentives and rebates nurturing and developing the indigenous industry, or are they counter-intuative measures. What can the industry do to ensure its sustainability?

This is an event for anyone with an imagination, from these looking to begin a career in the Visual Effects and Entertainment industries, to industry professionals wishing to upskill, as well as those in design and related disciplines.

If you are serious about your career or you believe the world of VFX could be for you, Double Eye will give an insightful view through the looking glass.
