‘The Snackbox Sessions’, a networking event for filmmakers by filmmakers about the business of filmmaking, will be hosting their winter session next week. The event shines a spotlight on an innovative group of independent filmmakers. It’s an informal evening of conversation and audience-led questions with a chance to learn from experiences and to share your own.
Snackbox co-founder Garry Walsh says “This is a fantastic opportunity for the next generation of Irish filmmakers to learn from and network with a new wave of talented writers, producers and directors whose innovation, ambition and determination has led them to pursue alternative and sometimes unconventional routes in order to get their films on to the big and small screen.”
The event is open to students wanting to learn more about the industry, writers, producers and directors trying to get their film made, film buffs and industry pros who wish to meet new and emerging talent in the Irish film industry.
Host on the night is Alison Crinion of Lovemovies.ie with proceeds going to the The Irish Cinema Trade Benevolent Fund. The panellists will include Terry McMahon (writer/director of ‘Patrick’s Day’), Alex Fegan (producer/director of ‘The Irish Pub’), Mark O’Connor (writer/director of ‘Stalker’) and Nicky Gogan (director/founder of Darklight Festival).
The event takes place on Monday 23rd of February 2015 in The Sugar Club, 8 Lower Leeson Street, Dublin 2. Tickets are €10 and available here.
