Women in Animation (WIA) Ireland are to present a new series of panel talks featuring the female crew of major animation series produced in Ireland. The series kicks off with ‘The Women Of Doc McStuffins’ which takes place on Monday November 3rd.
The panels will feature key crew members such as Art Directors, Animators, and Production staff talking about their roles in the creation of each series. They will discuss their career progression in the industry, their education in animation and their experience of working together on the animation production.
The ‘Doc McStuffins’ panel will feature Bronagh O’Hanlon (Art Director), Theresa Mayer (Producer), Jean Herlihy (Animation Director) and Cliona Curran (Storyboard Artist), who work together on the hit Disney Junior series. ‘Doc McStuffins’ is produced by Brown Bag Films, based in Dublin.
The Irish chapter of Women In Animation was founded this year to promote and empower women in the Irish animation industry. Membership is currently free and is open to women and men working or studying in animation, games, visual effects, film and TV. WIA members have access to an online industry advice forum, regular guest speaker events, online Q&As, networking mixers, CV clinics and a forthcoming mentorship programme.
The events are free to WIA Ireland members, and places are available to the first 30 people to RSVP.
